Dr. Timothy Moore

Dr. Timothy Moore, a native of Wilson, North Carolina, earned his bachelor’s degree, Cum Laude with honors, from Fayetteville State University in 1982. Though awarded a full scholarship to pursue a Doctorate in Medicine, he answered God’s call to ministry and received biblical training at Trinity Bible College. He earned an Honorary Doctoral Degree from United Christian College in 2014 and a Masterclass Certificate in Faith-Based Community Development from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in 2025.
Dr. Moore has been married to Florine Newsome Moore for 45 years, and they are the proud parents of two daughters, two sons-in-law, and eight grandchildren.
For more than 41 years, Dr. Moore has faithfully served the United Holy Church of America in numerous pastoral, educational, and administrative roles. He served as pastor of Greater Walltown United Holy Church for 26 years and as pastor of Mt. Zion United Holy Church in Oxford. He has also served in various leadership positions at the district and general church levels, including the Education, Election, Marketing, and Budget Committees; District Board of Elders; United Christian College Board of Trustees; and General Church Election Committee.
Dr. Moore currently serves as Second Vice President of the Southern District Convocation, District Elder of the Southern Central District, Chair of the Southern District Convocation Budget Committee, and Site Director of the Durham Ministerial Training Program.
A retired higher education administrator with 36 years of service in the North Carolina public university system, Dr. Moore managed multimillion-dollar budgets and complex administrative operations.
Beyond the church, he is the Founder and Executive Director of the Greater Walltown Food and Clothing Pantry, which serves more than 1,000 families each month, impacting thousands of individuals in the community. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Braggtown Community Association and is a member of the Durham Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.
Known for his faithful leadership and servant’s heart, Dr. Moore lives by the guiding principle: “The way up in Christ is to be low and humble.”
