Bishop Devin C. Pickett, Sr. answered the call to preach at the age of nine and preached his first sermon in August 1977 at St. Paul United Holy Church in Maple Hill, North Carolina. He received his first ministerial license at age 11 from the Southern District Convocation and accepted his first pastoral appointment at age 22.
He currently serves as pastor of Saint John United Holy Church in Burgaw, North Carolina, and St. Delight United Holy Church in LaGrange, North Carolina. Bishop Pickett is widely respected for his faithful service, humility, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to the work of the Lord.
Elected Second Vice President of the Southern District Convocation in 2016, Bishop Pickett became Bishop-Elect in 2017 and was consecrated Bishop in 2018. He was subsequently elevated to Vice President in 2019 and Presiding Prelate in 2021. He was also elected to the General Board of Bishops of the United Holy Church of America, Inc. in 2021. In 2024, he was elected President of the Southern District Convocation, and in 2025, International President Bishop Gregory K. Hargrave appointed him to the UHCA, Inc. General Board of Bishops in recognition of his faithful and steadfast leadership.
Bishop Pickett has been happily married to Elder Sharon McAllister Pickett since March 21, 1992. They are the proud parents of three children—Devin Jr., Daveon, and Daviava—and are blessed with a son-in-law, Pastor Brent Murphy, and two grandsons, Brenton II and Berkleigh.
